Holiday 365
For many of us, this is the time of the year when we actually try to be all of the values that we hold so dear. Maybe you have become more giving by helping someone in need or in some way portrayed the simple acts of kindness that sometimes elude our society (even a smile goes a long way). In whatever way you chose to be more inclusive, let’s not let it end with the holidays. I don’t know about anyone else but I was left with the feeling of “That’s it.” The Christmas holiday seemed to fly by faster than I had anticipated and part of me was left wanting more; more time with friends and family, and more time being and feeling good. Then I remembered the ideals we seek are not meant to be chalked up to one day where we can feel and experience it. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanza the values that are ascribed to those holidays are what matter the most and are not to be forgotten once the day passes. Practice bringing the spirit of the holy days into all of your moments until there is no distinction between this day or that. This is bliss, this is peace, and this is Holy.
